Canada Place is on the Burrard Inlet waterfront of Vancouver near
Stanley Park. It is the home of the
Vancouver Convention Centre, and
Pan Pacific Hotel. Across the street
and accessible by underground walkway is the
Fairmont Waterfront Vancouver.

It is also Vancouver's
main cruise ship terminal, where most cruises to Alaska originate.
Originally built for Expo 86 as the pavilion for Canada, The striking white
sails of the building has made it a prominent landmark for the city.
VANCOUVER CHINATOWN
Designated a historic district, the distinctive character of Chinatown is
evident in architecture that features unique recessed balconies and decorative
parapets. A visit should include a tour of the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese
Garden, the only authentic Chinese garden outside of China, and don’t forget to
try the amazing dim sum this area has to offer. On weekend evenings in the
summer, Keefer and Pender Streets transform into a bustling open-air night
market with vendors hawking fake Rolex watches while elderly men engage in
heated games of mah jong.
GRANVILLE MALL
Vancouver concentration of bars and nightclubs is in a new Granville
Entertainment District, which was designated in the 700, 800, and 900 blocks of
Granville Street. Here you will find Vancouver's wide array of nightlife that
offers a little bit of something for everyone. Granville Street by Day provides
access to The Bay and Sears department stores, Pacific Centre shopping mall,
Robson Street shops and restaurants
ENGLISH BAY
Beautiful old homes are nestled among high-rises in the West End, one of the
most densely populated communities in North America. The neighbourhood is a gem:
situated to the west of downtown’s central business district between Burrard
Street and Stanley Park, the West End acts as an all-access gateway to the
waterfront and the park, with its shaded walkways and endless trails for biking,
running and in-line skating.
YALETOWN
This warehouse-district-cum-trendville has smoothed out its formerly rough edges
and welcomed into its handsome arms fashion-forward clothing and accessories
stores, High-end grocery stores where locals shop for imported olive oils,
cheeses from boutique farms and other yummy, if pricey, treats.
KITSILANO
Kitsilano Tons of green space, plenty of restored craftsman-style houses on
leafy streets, great shopping for sportswear, fashion and organic produce on
Fourth Avenue and close proximity to the beach make “Kits” one of Vancouver’s
most desirable neighbourhoods.
FALSE CREEK
This waterfront community is best seen by way of a seaside pathway that
stretches from Cambie Street to Granville Island, Locals and chefs love the
Public Market for its unparalleled supply of fresh produce and gourmet
foodstuffs; visitors will enjoy an ever-changing showcase of locally designed
art and handicrafts.
COMMERCIAL DRIVE
“The Drive” as it is affectionately known to locals, was Vancouver’s first
suburb, long referred to as the city’s Little Italy. While many of the original
Italian, Spanish and Portuguese immigrants have since moved to other areas of
town, you’ll still find a number of family-owned cafés serving authentic food
and drink, and televising satellite soccer matches from around the world .
THE NORTH SHORE
North and West Vancouver collectively make up the district known as the
North Shore, situated directly across the Burrard Inlet from the downtown
core. Rich in nature and world-famous outdoor attractions, the North Shore
mountains are host to snow sports in the winter and challenging hiking and
biking trails in the summer. Daredevils must visit Lynn Canyon and Capilano
suspension bridges, while those who prefer to keep their feet on terra firma can

Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver.
RICHMOND
A city in its own right, Richmond is anchored on a group of islands between the
north and south arms of the Fraser River and greets visitors to Vancouver via
the city’s international airport. Home to the second-largest Asian community in
North America, the heart of Richmond (nicknamed The Golden Village) boasts
numerous malls, restaurants and karaoke bars that reflect its Asian roots.

miles) The trip to from Seattle to Vancouver takes about 3 hours. The
Vancouver-Whistler drive takes about 2 hours, depending on road and traffic
conditions.
